(if there are still any of you out there that check-up on me!) The decision has been made. I started a new blog. Oh, it has lots and lots of kinks to work out. But, I wanted to let you know about it. Soon, I will have my husband link the caradaniel address to it, if that is how you find me. Anyway, here is the new link. Oh my goodness, it has been 2 weeks since I've blogged! It feels more like 2 months! I have pictures. I have thoughts. I have projects, recipes, cute baby faces, and such... but I fear I'm losing my groove with each passing day! Once again, my husband may have a solution. If this one doesn't work, I am definitely purchasing more space some time this week.<br /><br />995.<br /><br />Do you know what that is? That is how many posts I've published since beginning my blog in June 2008. I don't scrapbook or journal or even print very many pictures -- this is it, folks. This blog will have to be my kids' scrapbook. That means I have to get back into my groove, and quickly!<br /><br />So, I am posting this for you today. I will be back this week -- somehow!<br /><br />In the mean time, I have to throw-out a HUGE thank you to <a href="http://www.jeannewinters.com/">Jeanne Winters</a>. She was the first blogger I fell in love with, and I just won a drawing on her blog last week. My prize arrived 2 days ago, and is already hung proudly on my wall. She designed it for Dayspring, and it is UH-MAZING! I will show you it as soon as I get this figured out. In the meantime, go check her out <a href="http://www.jeannewinters.com/">here</a>!!<br /></span>Livin’ The Yeh Life’s http://www.blogger.com/profile/12065469980612866633noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251221219285643140.post-71436279155616780172012-04-03T19:50:00.005-07:002012-04-03T20:46:08.659-07:00HELP!!!<span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">So, here's the deal. I have not been able to blog because I was no longer able to download pictures. Blogger said I have exceeded what I am allowed to use. Huh? </span><br style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">I was hoping it was an April Fool's joke. No joke. Apparently my pictures are too large. Tonight I sat down with my husband, (so grateful I married a geek), and he helped me re-size some pictures. But it takes time and effort and throws a wrench into my blogging joy. Ugh!</span><br style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">So, I really hope to be blogging again, soon! Tonight I am too tired from our gorgeous hike up to our local waterfall. We brought our little camera only to find the batteries were dead, so at least I couldn't share pictures with you, anyway.</span><br style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);"><span style="color: rgb(204, 0, 0);">If anyone out there has ever come across this same problem and has a solution for me, please do share. In the meantime, I'll give my husband's method a whirl.</span></span>Livin’ The Yeh Life’s http://www.blogger.com/profile/12065469980612866633noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251221219285643140.post-90428569826712979502012-03-31T15:32:00.008-07:002012-04-01T12:31:47.025-07:00The 2012 Fishing Derby<span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);font-size:130%;" ><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--41qeU5WLUY/T3fVLsCkhfI/AAAAAAAAKj8/RPVk8JDMCmA/s1600/IMG_0717.JPG"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/--41qeU5WLUY/T3fVLsCkhfI/AAAAAAAAKj8/RPVk8JDMCmA/s400/IMG_0717.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5726279848002094578" border="0" /></a></span><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 153);font-size:130%;" >Today was Allison's Fishing Derby. I really don't want my kids to grow-up feeling entitled. Part of our reason for homeschooling was to have the flexibility to do missions and things where our kids can learn it's not all about them. This is a start, and I'm ok with it.<br /><br />Overall, I thought it was a fantastic day. And, a lesson-learning one, as well! I must say, I was quite proud of Allison's patience and endurance. Not sure I would have been so determined at her age! Good job, Allison. <br /></span>Livin’ The Yeh Life’s http://www.blogger.com/profile/12065469980612866633noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251221219285643140.post-57364316488991929172012-03-31T08:15:00.000-07:002012-03-30T13:29:46.546-07:00Plant Day<div style="text-align: center; color: rgb(0, 102, 0);"><span style="font-size:130%;">Thursday we finally had the opportunity to join some of our homeschooling friends for "plant day." Is it because it's on a different day each year? In the fall I literally count-down the days until I feel like it's "ok" to start decorating for fall. The day after Halloween, Thanksgiving goes up. The day after Thanksgiving, Christmas goes up. But somehow poor Easter gets a bit neglected.<br /><br />This makes me sad for a few different reasons. Of course, we don't get to enjoy the decorations as long. But, we also don't have as much of a chance to prepare our hearts for the greatest holiday any person could ever possibly celebrate -- our Savior lives!<br /><br />Somehow, we are ahead of the game in school this year. So, I decided to just do Easter devotions from now until Easter. It's sort of a 2-week Easter Break, but at least we're doing something "educational" each day. We also have at least 3 field trips planned. So, let the fun begin!<br /><br />Thankfully, since this is suppose to be my break as well as the kids, I let another mom do all the prep work for me. I got all the devotionals from <a href="http://www.shauna-lynn.blogspot.com/2012/03/seeing-as-easter-is-just-around-corner.html">HERE</a>. It is a 12 day countdown, so if you hurry you still have time to join us before Easter! Today marks day 3 for us. Here's a little taste of what we're up to:<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: rgb(51, 153, 153);">Day 1:</span> </span> We learned about Jesus Immanuel, talked about the names of Jesus, the meaning of our own names, and dotted our names on a sheet of paper. Other days, I need reminders of why this job is so important. The funny thing is, those reminders often come from my little subjects, themselves. </span><span style="font-weight: bold; color: rgb(0, 51, 51);font-size:130%;" ><br />Exhibit A:</span><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);font-size:130%;" ><br /><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WjbGTUmlIx8/T2_cuyu16TI/AAAAAAAAKaY/24UDvb9hBDA/s1600/note.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WjbGTUmlIx8/T2_cuyu16TI/AAAAAAAAKaY/24UDvb9hBDA/s400/note.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5724036347861526834" border="0" /></a></span><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);font-size:130%;" >I found this note folded up on my desk, the other day. I often wonder, do they know what's important... are they getting the lessons I'm trying to teach... and most importantly, am I a living example of what I am trying to teach? I was totally moved by this note, because it shows where my daughter's heart is... she gets that it's important to spend time with our precious Savior. Does she always live it? no. Do I always live it? NO. I have to remind myself of that, often. But I've planted seeds. And, they are growing. And, they will continue to grow. And, I need to continue to water and nourish them! But I also need to be patient as the Master Gardener does His work.<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5fMJ20LF0d8/T2_cuefOLiI/AAAAAAAAKaQ/1MtqXd72w7w/s1600/allison%2Band%2Bmalachi.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 294px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5fMJ20LF0d8/T2_cuefOLiI/AAAAAAAAKaQ/1MtqXd72w7w/s400/allison%2Band%2Bmalachi.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5724036342427299362" border="0" /></a></span><span style="color: rgb(0, 51, 51);font-size:130%;" >Lately I've been amazed watching my oldest two help out with our younger two. Sometimes I wish someone would make me write sentences because I need to remember to not whine, as well! Of course, my whining is a little more subtle. It takes place in my heart... <span style="font-style: italic;">Do I really have to do dishes, again?</span> The cure: gratitude. And, that is what we're working on. This week have felt it so strongly. At this very moment I am grateful for a quiet house! :) And, that means it's time for me to do dishes.. and for that, I am grateful!<br /><br /></span>Livin’ The Yeh Life’s http://www.blogger.com/profile/12065469980612866633noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251221219285643140.post-16515157890382496002012-03-23T20:47:00.003-07:002012-03-23T21:08:25.505-07:00Painting Therapy<span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="color: rgb(0, 153, 0);">Whew... So, here's the story. We were driving home from a birthday party Wednesday afternoon. We passed by an old feed store that has always intrigued me. A sign caught my eye: "Chicks now available." I tell Daniel. He turns the car around, and we take the girls to see the chickies. The next thing I know, we are the proud owners of 5 chicks, and my husband is ordering a coop for our backyard! I have never seen them in a store before, or else I would buy them as gifts for friends; I think they're pretty cool!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;">Like any toy, they are super fun and played with for a long time at once, then forgotten about for weeks until they become "new" again. Really, I don't think the girls have played with these since we moved here. But, this week they decided to make "rag dolls" with them. They have lots of dolls they could play with. But, these dolls became precious and special because they made them!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;">It made me realize once again just how little kids need to really make them happy. Last week, they worked outside for hours every day playing "brick factory" with some old pavers the previous owners left here. After Costco trips, boxes become the best toys. There is no fort cooler than one built out of blankets and chairs. And, homemade games and crafts? The best!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;">I can totally relate to their joy. I am currently working on decorating the shelves around my tv cabinet. When I find something around the house that I can use there, I get so excited! I don't even want to go buy more "junk." (Unless, of course, it's on clearance at Target because I just can't seem to resist an orange sticker!) But really, I have all I need. I find joy in re-purposing old pieces that actually mean something to me. Or, I like creating my own art -- even if it's copied from Pinterest!</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000099;">So, there you go! It may be reaching a bit to pull that out from "Rag dolls," but it's a good reminder, none-the-less to be happy with what we have... And, to make the most out of what we have!</span></div>Livin’ The Yeh Life’s http://www.blogger.com/profile/12065469980612866633noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6251221219285643140.post-12272996927161077282012-03-11T21:10:00.003-07:002012-03-11T21:17:47.280-07:00Sunday Cuteness<b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:180%;color:#cc0000;">CAUTION:</span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;"> Major cuteness ahead. </span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;"><br /></span></div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-47ewV8u-Qys/T113UP5-AnI/AAAAAAAAKKo/5xTHXZ6p7Hw/s1600/Malachi%2Bhat.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#000000;"><img src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-47ewV8u-Qys/T113UP5-AnI/AAAAAAAAKKo/5xTHXZ6p7Hw/s400/Malachi%2Bhat.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718858291581158002" style="display: block; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 10px; margin-left: auto; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 267px; " /></span></a></div><div><b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:180%;color:#cc0000;">Warning:</span></b><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;"> Squeezing cheeks may leave fingerprints on your computer screen. Last year the girls accidentally stumbled upon it with Grandma when we lived across the street from Bass Pro Shop and they would take walks to the "fishy store." They called Daniel and I to come with our cameras, and we waited outside in the heat for a very, very long time. When it was finally our turn, we waited once again; (I guess that's what fishing is about, right?)</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#003300;"><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#003300;">Not this year! Because we went on Friday, the wait wasn't very long and the fish were biting quickly. It was a nice day, but not overly hot. All 3 girls caught a fish, though we forgot our camera -- doh! And, guess what? Natalie's fish was...<br /><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 0); font-size:130%;" > </span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#003300;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zg9zr6c55Lg/T1wh2R7T4rI/AAAAAAAAKKE/vgxuSsIWcIA/s1600/trout%2B2.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 267px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Zg9zr6c55Lg/T1wh2R7T4rI/AAAAAAAAKKE/vgxuSsIWcIA/s400/trout%2B2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718482843262509746" border="0" /></a></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 0); font-size:130%;" >PREGNANT!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#003300;"><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lS5UJH6hijc/T1wh2JqJz4I/AAAAAAAAKJ4/foTZQ_z-9UU/s1600/trout%2B3.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-lS5UJH6hijc/T1wh2JqJz4I/AAAAAAAAKJ4/foTZQ_z-9UU/s400/trout%2B3.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718482841043062658" border="0" /></a></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 0); font-size:130%;" >I hope the pictures aren't too bothersome for you. Years ago, I would have been very disturbed. Being married into the Chinese culture, things like this don't even bother me anymore! In fact, I find them very cool. Of course, Daniel had me look up a recipe for turning them into caviar, and that's exactly what he did! It's quite a process; each egg has to have the membrane removed. But, we couldn't resist giving it a try! They now sit in a pretty little glass jar in our fridge!<br /><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 0); font-size:130%;" > </span></div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#003300;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B9ZfnqJfacs/T1wh19xVrRI/AAAAAAAAKJw/-JarwRFKs0w/s1600/trout%2B4.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-B9ZfnqJfacs/T1wh19xVrRI/AAAAAAAAKJw/-JarwRFKs0w/s400/trout%2B4.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718482837851974930" border="0" /></a></span><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(0, 51, 0); font-size:130%;" >And, tonight we enjoyed the trout. I did already have the fabric in hand that Allison had picked out herself, and I made the pillow according to Allison's instructions she had given me beforehand. But, I didn't really get to be creative.</span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#336666;"><br /></span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#336666;">If you have multiple kids, (and especially 2 girls), you know that giving them 2 different presents can be risky. Inevitably, if I give Allison something and then Natalie something different, Natalie wants what Allison has. Knowing this, I asked Natalie ahead of time if I could make her toothfairy pillow different. She said yes. I wasn't convinced. I asked again. She still said yes. I still wasn't confident, but I went for it. Rather than a tooth with a pocket and her initials like Allison's, I made an orange monster head that eats teeth. It kind of resembles an "ugly doll." Here it is:</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#336666;"><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xK-X2VIx_VQ/T1rPH4G63SI/AAAAAAAAKJU/epmHddsiNjY/s1600/toothfairy%2Bpillow%2B2.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 269px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xK-X2VIx_VQ/T1rPH4G63SI/AAAAAAAAKJU/epmHddsiNjY/s400/toothfairy%2Bpillow%2B2.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718110411127708962" /></a>And... drumroll please...</span></div><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size:130%;color:#336666;"><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xSr2gPnSJks/T1rPHiU0_ZI/AAAAAAAAKJM/qFS3R0VxraM/s1600/toothfairy%2Bpillow%2B3.jpg" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 267px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xSr2gPnSJks/T1rPHiU0_ZI/AAAAAAAAKJM/qFS3R0VxraM/s400/toothfairy%2Bpillow%2B3.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5718110405280464274" /></a>Natalie loves it! She named him Benny. He sits on her bed and makes her happy. She called me to her room tonight just to look at him on her "polished bed." So sweet. She's happy. I'm happy. And, now to watch my tivo'd Survivor and go to bed!</span></div>Livin’ The Yeh Life’s http://www.blogger.com/profile/12065469980612866633noreply@blogger.com1
