St. Patrick's Day School

Look! I bought my first shamrock:

I couldn't resist. What a great centerpiece for St. Patrick's Day! Of course, today isn't officially St. Patrick's Day, but around here it was all things green, rainbow, leprechaun, and pots of gold. Today we did our St. Patrick's Day themed school with some close friends.

We started our morning once again with Lucky Charms and green milk. I pretty much should just call every holiday a sugar day around here!

Let me interpret Sierra's face for you: "What do you mean, don't eat just the marshmallows?"

Once our friends arrived, we were off and running trying to find where the leprechaun hid the pot of gold.

Success! The pot of gold was found, (and promptly consumed!) Next, it was on to the word search and its secret message...

Snap peas and green coated pretzels were a good green snack, (along with leftover Lucky Charms), while we worked on our St. Patrick's Day activity books. Once we got to the last page, which was a color-by-number, we listened to the Adventures in Odyssey rendition of the true story of St. Patrick.

Thumbprint shamrocks and half-plate painted rainbows rounded off our day!

Finally, we had some green noodles for lunch and said goodbye to our friends. The morning went by all too fast! I'm still debating if I want to take the kids for shamrock shakes tomorrow, or if we had enough sugar today to last us a while! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
