Today was finally the day... the day Allison had been anticipating for over a year! She decided to do it on "Meaningful Monday," as was appropriate! What did she do? Today she donated her hair to, "Locks of Love;" an organization that makes wigs for cancer patients and others who have hair loss. In the picture above, I had just finished brushing her long hair for the last time.
Though I consider myself a "short hair person," I LOVED Allison's long hair! However, it was easier than I thought to see it go. I have to wonder what the people at the salon were thinking, as we went as a whole family and took 61 pictures! :)
And, there's her ponytail in her hand!
Next came the trim...
And the blow dry...
And at last...
Tada! Isn't she adorable with short hair? I was so proud of her, as this was truly a sacrifice. She loved her long hair! But, I think she felt very proud and liked the new look and feel, too.
Poor sister. She was happy one minute, and telling us it was the worstest day ever the next. She wanted her hair cut like her sister! Lots of tears were shed. We now have a date on the calendar next month when she will get her hair cut, too.
Sweet girl couldn't stop looking in the mirror!
One last peak...
The "new" Allison! (Looking 1 - 2 years older, in my opinion!)
