Columbus Day

Happy Columbus Day! (And, happy birthday, Dad!) Today we "explored" the world of Columbus, a bit. We sang songs, did coloring pages and word searches, and made a special 3-d map of Columbus' Journey.

Both girls enjoyed this project. I had to laugh, though, when Allison exclaimed how much she loved Columbus Day and how she wished every day could be Columbus Day. That kid is a character!

We made our own boats for snack! (This was totally impromptu -- thanks, God!)

... And pizzas for lunch, since Columbus was Italian. Of course, we had to "speak Italian," as well. Really, that means we talked loud, used our hands, and used a silly accent. (No offense to any Italians out there!)
